I just bought a new 250 gb hdd for my xbox 360 i have been using a 20gb hdd but it was filled and before the 20 i had a 120 gb which i had the same problem with but the problem is i put it on the xbox where its supposed to go and its on there right but it wont show that its in so i used the transfer cable to hook it up in the front usb and it showed as 16 gb then i hooked it up to my laptop but it said 250gb free i have no idea whats wrong nothing over complicated please

it said fully compatable xbox , to transfer my content across from my 20 gb hdd, when i plugged the120 into the xbox transfer cable it shown on the dashboard as 120gb capacity and about 116 available so i clicked on the 20 gb and selected transfer content to the 120, it then said i neede to configure the 120 so i selected yes, the saves then went across no problems. but when i checked the 120's details it had changed the total capacity to only 16gb and available to 4gb, where has all the space i payed for gone? and to make matters worse, when i put it in the top of my xbox it wont even recognise it. does anyone know whats happened and how to sort it?

I just got a 250GB HDD for my xbox 360 old xbox and got a transfer cable both from ebay i plugged the new hdd into the transfer cable into the xbox. when i turned the xbox on the transfer data screen did not open so i had a look in the settings for my hdd but it wasnt there it was shown as USB Device, the new hdd drive worked fine in the xbox but now for some reason it doesnt work at all... what can i do... is the a way of reformatting it??
